Focus St Setup

This is what I'm planning on so far for the 2015 Focus ST I'm planning on buying this summer.

The reason for tapping off the stock amplifier outputs is because apparently you lose BlueTooth connectivity, steering wheel controls and volume controls if you tap off of the inputs to the stock amp. I'd like to maintain this functionality. I understand that a bunch of filtering goes on in the amp but with the capability of the miniDSP, I feel that I can re-equalize to something that I enjoy listening to.

Any comments/suggestions?

I can't afford/don't need an RS. Not that I would mind having one :)

From what I've been reading, they're doing a 2016.

My uncle got an ST and has been driving it since about October. He loves it. I'm going to still have my Ranger as a winter vehicle but it will be a big change for me. I've been driving the Ranger since 2004 so I'm very excited for something new.
I own a 2013 ST and have a similar setup minus the minidsp 2x8 with different brand speakers and amps. I have read on Focusst.org (great forum to check out) that the 2014 had issues with tapping after amp. There was a thread on it and pretty sure they had a solution. I wish they would get the QNX system out sooner.

Are you getting a ST1 2 or 3?
Thanks for taking a look at my setup. The issue many had was with the Sony amps on the ST2/3. As far as I understand, the ST1 doesnt come with Sony hardware so is not affected by the issue. If it is, the solution is very simple.

Im planning on an ST1 as I dont need most of the additional features.

How much improvement does the minidsp provide?

Where are you getting your components for the door? I need a new pair for front.
Th miniDSP isnt about improvement, just a solution for filtering/TA/EQ for an active 2way plus sub. It seems to fit what Im looking to do in a small footprint.

Im buying the raw drivers from Madisound. Im hoping to play around with fiberglassing to get the drivers into the door.

How difficult was getting the power wire to the trunk? Any tips or lessons learned from your install?
Hmm, another ST in NJ, eh? I have an ST3 with the older "AA" Sony amp so I had no upgrade issues.

There's a grommet behind the glove box that gets you power through the firewall. I ran 4ga which was a little tight under some moulding pieces but NBD.

With the full size spare there's plenty of room for your processors under the floor. I have my MS-8 and an NVX amp under my floor, only the sub box is on top.
I'm planning on 0 gauge for the power I want available so I was hoping to grommet up into the trunk somehow. I figure once I have some hardware, Ill rip the entire trunk apart and find a solid way to snake it.

Do you have any pics of your setup? I would like to retain the spare but use all that foam space around it to house the power distribution and at least the processors. I found a neat install where a guy built a box around the tire for a small sub.
Yea, I would like to store everything under the floor but the amps are quite large.

Is there room under those left and right humps? Or is that space completely filled with electronics and things? It would be really cool to replace those with fiberglassed boxes for subs :) And maintain a whole trunk even with all that.
