Dont believe these amps were .5 ohm stable. The 225hcca and 425hcca were, but not these. These and the 250hcca's were 1 ohm stable in stereo and 2 ohm stable bridged. Thats not to say you cant run it that low, just be sure you have some cooling fans as these suckers run HOT, and you will probably decrease their lifespan running them at .5 ohms.

On a side note, when fed 14.4 volts of power, this amp will pump out roughly 1400 watts at 2 ohms bridged. And this is the 3rd gen amp as it has the built in EQ and internal MONO summing for bridging. I own a 2nd gen that requires the bridging module to run it mono and the first gen had the moon and stars Orion logo. The 4th gen had the pop top cossovers built in.

But they were tested and could only do 800 watts? Is there something wrong with the test that you guys still feel they put out 1k and more? I don't mean to sound argumentative or hurt your sale thread, just curious?

Ps I have a set of hcca's, not a hater, a lover of orion

Edit again... Watched the video again.
It did 798 at 40hz and 1024 at 1k 2 ohms mono

These are half ohm stable. The 225 was .25 ohm stable.

They EASILY exceeded rated power and sounded great doing it. Erik doesn't buy junk and if I had the space I'd have already bought it

Ohh, well ok
Erik doesn't buy junk so it's 1600 watts

I asked because I hoped to learn something.

Orion 2100 HCCA Installation Manual (Page 12 of 12)

People ask for $600 on ebay for this amp, especially the "competition". Its like how people prefer xtr2250 "the beast" than 2250sx. I sold one with plexi recently for $500 shipped on ebay. I know capea4 loves Orion hcca amps because he have like four of them.
Exactly. I own a 3rd gen 225 HCCA and a 2nd gen 250 HCCA. I have the owners manuals too. It states that the 225 and 425 are both half ohm stable and the 250 and 2100 are both 1 ohm stable. And yes, because this amp has an unregulated power supply, it WILL put out MORE power than it's rated for. Wanna see them amps REALLY shine? Power them with a bank of 16 volt batteries and they will do almost double their rated power. Keep in mind that the rated power is at 12 volts and once installed in a running car, they get a little over 14 volts while the car is running. Like I said, install an isolator and a bank of 16 volt batteries and these things really perform. I am no Orion hater, I LOVE my Orion amps. Have had them for almost 20 years now. Of all the equipment I've owned that has come and gone, my 225HCCA and 250HCCA are still with me.

Orion 2100 Installation Manual (Page 4 of 25)

According to this page, it says 800 watts into 1 ohm bridged, but thats a typo because that would mean the 250 HCCA would do 800 into 1 ohm bridged as well since it's stated as doing 400 watts into 2 ohms bridged. The 800 watts stated for the 2100 IS at 2 ohms bridged.
