On the backside of the unit are two small mounting holes you can put screws into that protrude out 1/2" if you cut those off your total depth would be 2" if you leave them your total depth is 2.5".

I guess I'm just confused about how it knows that a fuse is blown. I'm still interested, I just don't get what is involved with the installation.

The best I could recommend at this point is emailing Tsunami, I have not been able to locate any install or wiring info on the web on this item. I may have the original packaging at my other house, just not sure when I will be able to get over to check.

Ok, so I looked around a bit and I think this is an RDS9100 and not an RM9100. The RM9100 was just a display and cable that plugged in to the FDB9104-AGU fuse holder. The RDS9100 is a universal unit that comes with the adaptor box (which I see in the picture). I guess you just run a small primary wire from the output of the fused connection to the inputs of the adaptor box. Can you confirm this difference based on what you have?
