Thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on this subject alone.

What I'd like to know is what does each one excel at in their own regards? Which one would hold up better in a car environment.

I'm thinking the G18RNX would be the best due to it's fiberglass cone and it being less susseptible to moisture.

Also what are the advantages of a phase plug?

Thanks

Good topic idea.

The phase plug helps provide a better midrange. However, if I remember correctly. Npdang mentioned before that the phaseplug on the L18RNX was the reason why it had slightly less midbass than the CA18RNX.

I like my CA18RNX, but am also interested in what people have to say about the G18RNX's performance. I haven't heard/tried the L or the G yet.

And to add to this, what are the disadvantages of using a phase plug? One thing I could see might be a problem is dust getting into the speaker? :?:
