Hello all-

I've been out of the mobile game for a while, but am getting a new car, so time for some new gear!

I used to work on the home audio side at Bryn Mawr / Tweeter back in 2001-2006. I had a few nice pieces during that time: MB Quart Q's, Boston Pro's, Old Xtant amps, Focal K2P's, JL Slash series, W7's, CDA-9887, DRZ-9255...

After my car with the Focals, 12w7, and DRZ was stolen/totaled, I switched to the Dynaudio 222's, Audison amps, 10w7, and a Pioneer 880prs.

Now I'm looking at a new MB GLA where I have to keep the factory radio, so looking at the Mobridge DA1 and a TBD processor, going active with the Dyn's and adding the silk dome mid, keeping the Audison amps, and replacing the w7 with 2 of the SI BM's.

Thanks to all the members here sharing your opinions and expertise!!! Hope I can share something useful as well.

Wow, that just took me back with Tweeter from back in the day lol. Which one did you work at, as I kept the ones in NJ in business and the sales guys wishing that they had another job hahahah.

Columbia, MD.

Tweeter was a great gig. I wanted to take a break before college, so worked there for 2 years, then went part time during school.

Haha, yeah.... the few times I covered the mobile department, I was glad to go back to the home side.

I went to school at Villanova which is just a mile or so from the original Bryn Mawr store. I use to go by there to just drool on the equipment since I was a poor college student and could only afford the basic stuff. Where are you in MD? I live in Annapolis and have been trolling this site for a few years now. I can tell you have some background in this stuff by your product list. I have had the pleasure to hear one 12" SI BM sub mounted in the glove box of a Mazda 3 which was pretty impressive so 2 should kick some serious ass. What's your ride?

I see you've been a Member since 2009 but i'll still say it. Welcome back to DIYMA. Sorry for your wallet! :D

LOL. The Villanova / Main Line area outside of Philly always had some amazing hifi shops, I've definitely drooled over some speakers there myself.

(I think I had the upgrade bug and was reading about some other options back in 2009, hence why I joined. But then I took a job in Dubai and garaged the car for a while.)

I'm living in Rockville now and currently have an 2007 Audi A3 hatch. Am leaning towards getting the MB GLA 250 next, just waiting for the right incentive.

Haven't actually heard the SI BM in person, but after reading so much positive feedback on them compared to the JL TW's, I think I'll be happy with them. Glad to hear you were impressed as well.
