Hi everyone! I have a alpine x100 that I bought used and its works great but after I have been listening to my ipod for a while it will skip for a second or so. I have the wiring harness crimped to the headunit so I am thinking that it might be the problem and the solution to solder it. Any input from you all would be much appreciated.

Check the integrity of your iPod cable, and swap another iPod if possible.

The iPod is a digital source that won't be subject to mechanically induced skipping like an improperly mounted CD player, and if your cable has minute breaks in it it or won't properly engage in the dock connection of the iPod it may be a potential source of the problem.

Don't laugh- corrupt music files downloaded from the internet or poorly encoded can sometimes contain errors that sound like skipping when the files are played back, so if it always happens on the same song it may be worth investigating your source material.
