Howdy all, checking in from Greer, SC.

Had car stereos in HS and college, got out of the game as life moved on and things broke....

Currently looking to build a hatch setup for my look alike 2002 VW GTi 337. I have two Momo Polk 10s and an Xtant amp....looking forward to hanging out and seeing what new tips and tricks there are building speaker boxes such

Definitely curious to understand the pros/cons of using birch vs MDF....car is not an SPL competition car, it sits low on static suspension, so weight is a factor I need to consider!

Here are the goods for my speaker box/hatch setup....would love any recommendations on how to remove those black marks on the one speaker....or if anyone has one FS that is as clean as the one on the right

This is the inspiration for the build....buddy of mine did this years ago, to this day, it is one of my favorite setups for a hatchback

As Honda stated - there is a 20 post minimum as the site was getting quite a few bot/spam accounts in the past few months.

Oh man, that sounds fun, unfortunately that is the same weekend of a big annual VW/Audi car show in Helen, GA....that is actually my target for having my trunk setup complete....I organize the mk4 gtg, so hoping to debut it there!

Thanks @Bushwacker, I saw those earlier in the week, unfortunately they are in worse shape than what I have. I try and keep my eye out for them, hopeful I can find one in as good as shape as the one on the right in my photo
