Hello, I have a Pioneer KPX-9000 car radio, the problem is that the volume adjustment does not work, the shaft is loose, the potentiometer does not turn, the only way I can adjust the volume is to open the radio and move the potentiometer with a needle, has anyone ever had a similar problem?
thank you.

It's not uncommon for these older potentiometers to strip out or have the shaft simply break as the pot gets hard to turn. If you can still move the pot with a needle and it still works then you can possibly disassemble the mechanical portion of the assembly and remedy the problem but you'll need to unsolder it from the unit 1st and then if any of the bakelite or paxolin board crumbles when you do then you'll be looking for a new pot... maybe find a part number on it and spend some time seeing if there's any replacement parts available 1st...?
