Hi, I am looking for subwoofer and amp and in my budget, based by reviews and what is available in my country I will most propably go with Focal P25 DB (10inch) or P30 DB (12inch). Amp will be Alpine MRV-M250 mono (D class) or MRV-V500 5 channel (D class) so i can connect front speakers too. I will parralel connect 2x4 Ohm coils so i get 2 Ohm output. Both amps produce 250W RMS continious at 2 Ohms. Focal P25 DB is rated at 250W, while P30 DB is rated at 300W. Suggested sealed box size for 10 inch is from 15-35L so middleground would be 25L, and for 12 inch is from 25-45L so middleground would be 35L. I mostly listen to 90s hip hop, rock sometimes jazz, EDM and techno. I want bass to be SQ oriented and full (I dont need to rattle the car to pieces). So will I get more out of 10inch 250W in 25L or even 35L box using its full potetial with 250W amp or will 12inch 300W in 35L box give a bit lower bass for hip hop regardless of not pushing full 300W to it Thank you

The 12 is much better suited to that power level - you will be able to overdrive the 10 in 25L with 250 Watts.

The 12 is also ~1.7dB louder across the entire spectrum.

Ty very much, at first i wanted to go with 10 because I mostly listen to rock (at home) but I was kind of scared it could lack a bit for hip hop that I kind of listen more when I am in car, and I have space in trunk to put bigger box. So I think i will most propably go with 12 and 35L box made by Focal suggestions. And I would be thankful if you can get me a graph for 10 in 35L box, I cant find these drivers in my WinISD

Better get the newer Flax woofer, much higher excursion capabilities.

You have to add them manually and I can't attach them cause they don't have an "allowed" file extension.

Going to 35L on the 10 will only make the excursion worse and slightly extend the low frequency extension but doesn't change the f3.

I was looking at that series but it is double the price of P30 DB and budget doesnt let me unfortunately

Thank you very much for explanations and graphs, you helped a lot. So 12" in 35L box will be. I just need to make orders on everything tomorrow and i'll let you know first impressions when I am done with everything
