Direct Current will move your speaker in 1 direction only.

Alternating Current will make your speakers go in and out or up and down [ thereby moving air and making noise.].

TEST = connect a small 1.5 volt battery to the speaker wires [ watch what happens ]{this is DC or direct current}

Don't see why pulsed DC would make it die other than cause non-linear wear on the suspension.

I had 2 diamond amps that threw tons of DC current. Imagine my surprise seeing the domes on my dayton tweeters completely collapse when I turned my stereo on.

And by "DC current" I mean. DC. Sorry, I work in the department of redundancy department.
