How to recone a sub with no dustcap (ARC Black 12)

How would I go about aligning the coil when the sub doesn't have a removable dustcap to use a spacer? Has anyone reconed a sub like this?

My guess is that it does have a dust cap, but the dust cap goes all the way to the surround.
