https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=435797136575533&l=d94825a786 I don't know if this is what this site is for exactly but I'm looking for information about 2 12" Type R Alpine subs in box I cannot find on Google. I'm trying to sell these (my picture) and someone is interested but is asking me questions I don't have the answers to. If anyone can help me answer "How many OHMs can the box handle?", "Is it a 2 channel box?" "Is there a divider down the middle of the box that separates the speakers in the box?" Also what price do you think is reasonable? I don't know if you guys can even see the picture well or answer that for me without actually being here sorry if this is too ignorant of a post but thanks in advance! :D

"How many OHMs can the box handle?"

That question makes no sense. If he's asking about the ohm ratings for the speakers, the Type R subs come in two models 2x2 ohms or 2x4 ohms. Unfortunately it's not possible to tell from the picture which model you've got there.

"Is it a 2 channel box?"

Translation: Does the box have one connection or two connections for speaker wires?

"Is there a divider down the middle of the box that separates the speakers in the box?"

Can't tell that from the picture. You'll have to unscrew one of the speakers from the box to check to see that there's a divider inside.

From those pictures, those speakers seem to be an older model of the Type R, and they're in a mess. Looks like a bad repair job on at least one of the cones. Where and how did you get hold of this?

These were given to me from my ex boyfriend. He had them hooked up in his car and he transferred them to my car and now I'm pregnant, my car is broke down and I'm being taken to small claims court for a late doctor bill. Not the greatest of luck at the moment but I'm at least trying to see if I can get anything out of them. I know they look awful but surprisingly still work good. Its dark and cold out right now but tomorrow I will unscrew and see if there's a divider in there. Is the OHM something I could Google or would it be on the subs? I've had no luck with Google.. Thanks for your reply!

Wow - I actually going to ask if this was an "ex-boyfriend" thing, but thought better of it. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

When you pop out one of the speakers to check the inside of the box, check to see if there's a "d2" or "d4" anywhere on the speaker. "d2" would signify 2 2-ohm coils, and "d4" would signify 2 4-ohm coils. Or perhaps we might be lucky and there's actually "2 ohms" or "4 ohms" written on the speaker somewhere. Or maybe the full model number is written somewhere on the speaker, from which their ohm rating can be determined (see below)

Unfortunately the botched repair job is going to cut down the value of the speaker significantly. And those look like they're at least three models old. They look like they could be one of the following models:

Alpine SWR-1221D (swr1221d) 12" Car Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix

Alpine SWR-1241D (swr1241d) 12" Car Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix
