I went to a high-end audio shop today (they have a number of competition vehicles under their belts) and I was told by them that using liquid nails to bond a sub woofer box is bad as it emits a gas inside the box (over time) and will corrode the subs. Has anyone heard of this?

Yeap...and is true. Not to mention the fumes are flammable.

And LN does not penetrate the wood, so it only creates a surface bond. Wood glue is a much much stronger bond. Use some regular old silicone to seal up any gaps.

Interesting... luckily, I siliconed the inside of the box and I used screws to secure it together (along with the liquid nails) so I should be fine.
