I am building a box for a JBL GTO 804. I plan it going under the seat of my single cab truck.

The demensions are 12"x10.5"x7" with .75 mdf it comes out to be .30' cubed.

My question is after thinking, should I really do a sealed box, or should it be ported? Let me know what you think.

Here is the jbl site to the sub.

JBL - GTO804 - 8" Subwoofer with single 4-ohm voice coil

Thanks for helping a newb

Ya, I can fit a ported box that the manual says is ideal. .6 cu feet I think. (I would go look it up if im doing it)

But what would be better. Ported or sealed. Im new.

I have 2 of those in .34 sealed a piece and they sound great. I have not tried them ported but I can say I am quite pleased with them sealed.
