I actually have the same question as I will beginning changing out my system on my Mazda 6s GT here in the near future. If I grab the signal before, then I can remove the amp completely which would be ideal if I decide to put anything down in the passenger well.

I would tap it before, that is what I plan to do (currently saving for an MS8). In my vehicle at least, the OEM stereo puts out a flat signal, it made more sense to me to tap into that than wait for the Bose amp to process it, only for me to then process it again.

There are advantages to both. If you use line level input, then you probably have a stereo 2-channel signal, so MS-8 doesn't have to reconstruct one. The advantage to high-level input is that no ground loop is possible (no chance of engine noise) because it's isolated from ground by 6V.
This is andy's standard answer to the question, it seems to be a pick your poison option. Neither way is bad though....
