First I would like to say hello. Every time i did a search online asking some type of audio question, google always directed me here. So I finally have became a member. In the early 90s I was definaltly into car audio, but it has been a long time since I have had a decent set up in my car.
I have been planning a system in my 2008 Corvette for a while, and though it seems easy enough to throw some subs in the hatch area and roll with it, I decided I want to be able to store my targa top still, so I am limited by space on what I can use. I found a company that makes corner boxes for 10 W3 that would still allow my top to fit in the car. But I wanted something that could handle a bit more power. After searching for a sub that was close to the same mounting depth as the 10W3 I came across the Epic 10. I had the company modify a couple of the boxes to fit the Epic and they should be in next week. They only had to open the holes up about a 1/4".
I did this without ever seeing an epic 10, I had it shipped to them to use for modeling. The boxes have .65 cubic feet of air each, sealed.
Have I made a mistake? Should I have just stayed with the JL W3 10s? I do like JL, and have had some 12 W6V2s in the past. My only complaint about the JLs were a bit boomy for me, but overall I like the sound quality of them. I have never had the W3V3 line.
Thanks, for any advice you might have.
