Alright so the subs i have a pair of Audiobahn ALUM10 Q in a sealed box,and im looking for some subs that are louder and can go lower..Now the new ones im thinking of were a pair of Kicker CVX 15's, Alpine Type R 15's, or a pair of Soundstream T5 15's... now will all of these get louder and lower then what i have? Also im going to put the new subs in a ported box i think. Let Me Know What You Guys Think.

You'll have more cone area going from 10 to 15 but the type of box (and if ported, what frequency) will have a great deal with how any sub you get is going to sound. Tuning around the low 30's will present a decent amount of output with fidelity and depth.

If you want to have the crap shaken out of you, might wanna go lower, but then you're sacrificing some output.

If you want to guess it, then go with a bigger cone and use more of them. If you want to get scientific about it, model them in a program like WinISD pro and see for yourself what's what. Remember that the car itself adds gain, called cabin gain in fact. You can model that too, but for the moment lets just say it adds quite a bit to the overall bass response.

What is your budget?? This way one of us can point you in the direction you want to go. Also are you willing to purchase subs online??

Budget is around 500/shipped, ive been looking online and those were in my top 5 that i could find with mostly good reviews, also was looking at Mach5Audio IXL-15.2.2, Audioque SDC2.5, or Fi SSD,....I kinda want to keep it to a 2 sub setup. Also my current amp is a Power Acoustik BAMF 4000.1, but that will more then likely be replaced soon down the road. And since ive always had my subs in a sealed box, and not much experience with ported boxes, i figured i would try my hands at building my own box, and tune to subs specs..

What type of vehicle? What is the main type of music you listen to? What are your goals for this future set up (Sound quality, SQL sounds good but gets loud or SPL just gets fekken loud but maybe not sound so good)?

Well you have room for the enclosure then. To be honest, I haven't heard the Soundstreams you listed. I have heard a single 15 type R. In a GMC Jimmy. I figure a ported enclosure tuned in the 40 hertz range. Will give you a nice bump though a bit over exaggerated. Should get down to 30 fairly easy in your vehicle and be exceptionally obnoxious. Decent amp. Makes about 2K at 1 ohm. Add a battery in back. Give it about 3.5 to 4 cubic ft of volume per woof and some decent port area and you will be reeeeeally annoying the neighbors!! watch out for the cops!

Are they good subs? Would it be better then the ones i listed? Hows it a Quad work? Is it like a duel just with 2 more connections on the sub its self?
Yes, A quad sub will have 4 terminals on the speaker. Also you could look at Sound Soultion Audio's Subs. Icons are loud and will digg the lows.

Are the SSA's you think better than the CVX's? They are kinda over my budget. What about the Mach5Audio IXL-15.2.2, Anyone have any experience with those? They are pretty cheap and look like good build quality, and look like they could go loud and low...Another question i have is Bassbox Pro 6 better than Winisd for box building?

I think you were going the right direction with Fi Audio. They are local to me, and overall an excellent sub company. Kicker isn't even in the same ballpark.

^^^X2^^^

I have no personal experience with Mach Audio or SSA but have heard and read great thing about both of them. Now FI on the other hand i have had experience with, Im currently running a single 12 SSD in a sealed box and i love the way it sounds. But any of those company's i have listed will sound 10times better than the Kickers. Also these subs like smaller boxes than the kickers.
