Kenwood Car Stereo displaying "NO FILE"

Hello, Having a problem with updating the firmware on my Kenwood DPX503BT car stereo. I followed the download and install from the Kenwood site USB instructions as accurately as possible, but the unit is now displaying "No File" when the USB is inserted, I used a previously formatted FAT32 USB stick on the front mount USB port (nothing in back), downloaded only the Device 1 & Device 2 files for group "H" (nothing else on the stick) and followed the initial process through the menu so that the update can start. The display eventually stopped at "No File" after the ...Wait, .. The car stereo is now completely locked and cannot be turned off or reset without coming back to this stuck screen. I'm sure someone has run into this problem which advice can be given. My warranty is up and I'm seriously regretting ever trying to perform a somewhat straight forward firmware update process.:mad::confused:

Were you able to fix your No File issue? I'm having the same problem

Were you ever able to get your receiver out of the No File loop? It happened to me too.😔

I was able to fix the issue! The USB thumb drive that I used was a 250Gb exFAT32 file format, and a USB 3.0 I read in other forums from other Kenwood customers that they had similar issues with their receiver getting stuck in an endless loop when they tried updating their software.

The fix was using a USB drive that is FAT32 and under 32Gb of memory. I went to Walmart and bought a cheap 16Gb USB 2.0 thumb drive. Makes sense since most receiver technology still uses old computer chips, just like cars.

The receiver couldn't recognize the exFAT32 format nor the large memory in the thumb drive. I reformatted the new drive as a FAT32, uploaded the sole driver update file. As soon as I plugged in the USB, I pushed the volume knob, and it started updating! It was a slow update. Once it finished the update, it said "Completed" restarted on its own and things were back to normal. 😅
