Hi guys. I drive a 2013 Legacy. I have been very interested in mounting a single 10 in my parcel shelf. The sub could be reinforced and using the trunk as it's "enclosure ". My idea is to have 2 rings and clam shell the parcel shelf by tightening them together with a thick rubber gasket between each of them and the surfaces. I'd make a custom grille that would blend in and also protect it from the sun. Any ideas??? I've never even tried infinite baffle so any help is appreciated! :)

Any ideas on a great Sq 10 for this application? I'm considering using a Zapco Z150 to run the sub (300wRms).

I agree that a single 10" isn't ideal. I don't think you need 2 15"s, but if you only want to use a single 10" you"ll need to find one with a lot of excursion to get good output. Consider two 10"s if possible.

Thanks so much for all of the input! I have decided that I want to use 2 IDQ10v2 subs in the parcel shelf. I hope to do it VERY stealth to where the color matched grilles hide them completely. I'll probably drive them with a JL HD 750/1 instead of the z150 like I had initially planned. Thoughts on my decision? Suggestions?

For other reference. I'll be also running an Arc xxk4150 to a set of 6.5" AP Arians and AP xr3m widebands. JBL MS8 will also be used. Kenwood 7" Excelon DNX9990HD will be the source unit.

I will be following this closely as far as that rear parcel deck. Right now my 12" sealed sub is corner mounted ( or will be ) on my pass side in my trunk. Would love to see IB on the rear deck and hear your thoughts on this...

Makes sense. I wasn't knocking your choice. I thought there was maybe some other reason as well. But if you have the time and the money you honestly can not beat Acoustic Elegance for an IB setup. They claim to make the best IB subs on the planet and you'll find many, many people that agree.
Look at that chart I posted earlier. That beautiful white line is almost ruler flat with about 5db more output from 40Hz - 20Hz. That translates into something real and tangible that a person will definitely notice. Better SQ and more output.
I went all out when I bought my SBP subs with the Apollo upgrade because I wanted these to be the last subs I ever buy for a long, long time. Maybe AE will come out with something new that sets the bar even higher but I can't imagine it getting much better than it already is.
I'm going to look into acoustic elegance. Thanks!
