I have an Iriver MP3 player I use with my JVC head unit. There isn't an input level adjustment for the input( actually the CD changer J-bus plug with an adapter ).

I was wondering if I could use something like a Phoenix Gold ( since they seem so affordable on Ebay ) to input the MP3 player, and raise the level to match the CD and Radio? Would this work, or am I looking at something harmfull to the head unit?

Any input is appreciated.

I would contact the manufacture and see how much voltage the unit can accept [ if it were me ].

otherwise, hit it with some juice and then post back here with the results ;)

Yeah, I would bet that aux inputs are designed for very low voltage. A line driver might be way too much.
