So I’m looking at some CDT speakers. I’m looking to make a 3 way setup. I need shallow mount speakers. I am open to other options as well. Im just looking for someone with first hand experience with these particular speakers. Thanks in advance

Speakers i am looking at.

I have the Unity 8+ they sound good, but the sensitivity is noticeably lower 85db.
The tweeters that they replaced the sensitivity was 90db. So they just don't get that loud, but sound good.

ive only had the ES line back in 2006-2010.
CDT makes solid drivers, The owner Ken is great with warranty his product.
I really didn’t like the tweeters as much,
The midbass was snappy , but lacked in the lower end in my car.
The drivers are built like a tank, plus the warranty is great .
would I buy CDT drivers again, yes.
I’ve read & heard great things about the unity8 plus,

daloudin likes some of their speakers. That's enough for me to have confidence.

No experience with the specific models you're looking for. But I've been very happy with my current set of CDTs (Unity 7.5s, xovers, ES-06+ CV midwoofers, HD-M6CVs for midfill). I've recommended them to several people locally. And their customer service is VERY responsive.

I ran the OG yellow cone and basket Eurosports for almost 15 years. I had no reason to replace them until other stuff started dying. Up until recently, they were the best speakers I had personally owned.

Why's that?
CDT and Morel have a very similar sound signature. Tweeter wise anyway.
Im just not happy with the sorta laid back presentation. I remember cdts being much more suitable to my taste.

oh really that is my biggest issue with the morels. guess i need to look at focal.
That's why I went from CDT to Morel, I liked CDT tweeters but wanted to try something different. Most of your silk domes will be pretty chill, there are obviously exceptions to this.

Fair enough. I've like brighter tweeters in the past, but after listening to some Focals and Hertz, I didn't care for them. Haven't listened to my Maximo 6 yet, so hopefully they don't disappoint.
Es-6iM Price: $99999.99?!? Seriously does it come with lips?

Their stuff is good for the price. I had the ES series to start and was happy. Their biggest issue IMO is the sensitivity, especially the midrange

those ES-06+ CV midwoofers do look pretty mean. I wish I had the room for something like that.

lol I noticed that too. I think they are out of stock right now. That’s the reason for the price. They were cheaper than the HD-6iMK HR if I remember correctly.

so did you get the ES-1200iS tweeters ?
I purchased a set of unity and midbass for my son, much better than anything else at the price point we paid. would certainly by cdt speakers again
