Mids and highs cutting out at 50% volume

My door speakers cut out at 50% volume, but bass keeps pounding. This jas been happening eversince i installed skar coax and components up front. Im using a skar 400.4 on doors and 1500.1 on sub. Ive since upgraded main wiring to 0ga ofc. Still happening. Both amps have seperate grounds and proyection light does not come on. Amp stays on but if o reduce volume sound starts again. Voltage stays in 14 range. I also upgraded radio to new kenwood media center with carplay. And still the same thing. Please help me figure this out before i just swicth to different speakers.speakers r only rated at 60 rms in front and rear r 80rms. But ive turn gains down to almost nothing and it still does it. Please help

What does the drive in terms of impedance (ohms)
What impedence are the speakers?

I assume you want more SPL than 50% of the volume knob provides?

Passive crossovers on the components? If so, there may be a protection device in them that is getting tripped.

What ckirocz28 said is good place to start. Just to rule it out though, have you thought about re-grounding the amplifier to the same ground spot as the 1500.1? I'm not completely sure it's a speaker issue.

I had a similar problem a while back and it was a bad ground. I sanded it down to bare metal and that did the trick.
Although it could be a number of things, more info would help

One could probably put a DMM on the passive input to determine if the amps are still providing voltage when the sound disappears...

That seems more reasonable than jumping straight onto hallowed ground memes.

when had a volume related issue years ago I needed to ditch my circuit breaker style fuse and go with an ANL style.

If the amp remains on when this happens, then it's not a power or activation problem. It could be a speaker issue, but it seems unlikely that it would affect all speakers at the same time. That leaves signal input. I would hook the amp up to a separate source and see if it cuts out then.
