I have an 04 Impala SS, and currently running the IDMAX's sealed with 1.5 gross per sub. Im also running an AX-2000 which is 2kw @ 4 ohms. That being said, what sort of difference should I hear with a properly done IB setup? Also, what happens if I fold the seats up?

05 impala here. 2 ib 15's on about 500w. playinf from [email protected]/ oct. i love it! not as loud as my old box, but the overall sound seems more "refined". to me, it just sounds better. i need more clean power though, and will probably take it up to around 30hz to ensure it wont bottom out.

Be careful, you have a ton of power for an IB setup. Make sure you set your gains and subsonic filter appropriately.

The difference that you will hear will most likely be more volume at the low end, but less volume overall.

To add to the above, you won't use half of your 2kw to run the subs to thier limits.. you are no longer fighting against as box, so power handleing drops..

What you net is a super smooth response that drops to the lowest of the lows (within the limits of the subs) but doesn't have the bump in output that ported or even sealed offer..

Most make up for this with mutiple large drivers (or more small ones) or big excursion subs ...

I'll be using a pair of ID IDQ15's it looks like, cause my amp won't run my Critical Mass UL12, like I had hoped.. (IDQ's being larger, but low excursion, the UL12 is just a 12, but with 3" peak to peak excursion)
