I was wondering if anyone here has played around with any of the AVIC-F...BT series portable nav units. I see several online like the F90BT, F900BT, F700BT, and the F500BT. What I'm wanting to do it motorize the screen out of the top of my '08 F150 dash. I took it apart and I have the room up there. The problem is the connections on the back of the AVIC unit and the AUX in on the side. I would need all the connections and wires to come out of the bottom. I've never seen one in person so I don't know how easy it would be to take it apart and do some modifications. The other functions I want this to do is a backup camera and be able to play video from an external DVD player. It will be laying horizontal, backside facing up, and motorize open (like opening the screen on a laptop). Anyone have any tips or ideas? Thanks in advance.

I just bought one of the avic f500bt from 6thave for 248 bucks with the amp and ipod speaker. nice unit, but it lags a lot, and i cant seem to get the update to take. I have no place to put it in my car as its so big...so i am going to be cutting my dash apart and molding it into the top...hopefully that works out lol
