Ok I am wondering what you wizards think about this setup for two way most likely active. I know the 9s would not be everyones favorite for a two way setup but I think with the 308 tweeters will be a good match and allow me to xover on the lower side. The tweets will be in the factory location on the dash of my dodge ram quad cab and the mids will be in the doors. I have had great luck with the dyn 8s in the doors and ran two way a long time ago with mdt30 (whatever model the morels were, I think the ones listed above are the newer version) I really dont want to go back to 3 way if it can be avoided. Not because it was not always great, but because I want to simplify. I love the low end energy I get out of mid bass specialists in a good 3 way as well as the defined midrange. Do you guys think this setup can work? I can get the whole set shipped for $370 and seems like a great deal. For power I am probably going to sell my mcintosh 404 and down grade to rockford power amps. I have the t600-2 for my sub and it is awesome, I used it form mids once and felt it was perfect for the job. I have never been a rockford fan but these amps are real sleepers in my opinion. The mids will get around 250 and tweets around 100. The deck is a ddx-812 and the processor is a dcx-730. I would like to be able to eventually see if I can use the morel elate passive xover with the morel accuset adjustment and lose the dcx. Again non of this is because I do not like any of it, I just want to get a little more simple. Any input about the above topic would be great. Please keep the input to the question asked!.....not "for that $ why dont you try this....or that"......its so anoying! I am curious about this exact setup! Thanks in advance for your thoughts on it.

I really want to hear the cat308s. They look very nice and what a bargain! I think your choices will work well together, but I'm not sure the caw938 is the best choice. I find the 4.25 mm x-max a little low for a 9" woofer, but it wouldn't be bad.

Yeah I agree with the xmax issues, but I have used drivers in the past with similar xmax (I am probably wrong but believe the dyns were not far off from that as well) and being 9"s it should still provide some good low end for mids. I will be running a sub with it.

I had the CAW 938 and ran them for a while , they are awesome, they like to be xover at 63HZ I cut them off at 500hz because I ran a 3way front stage. they blend in with ease. I would have no problem going back to them.

also what is your though on the power put to it? I can do a t600-2 that is 250x2 at 4ohms (I know it is 8ohms but I dont think the power will change that much at 8ohms. I could always do a 600-4 that does 300x2 at 4ohms. I think the t400-2 is fine for the tweets seeing that it would be about 185+ at 4ohms. But I would like your personal experience on the topic

I can not honestly tell you what they would do at 1800hz, but i can say that they have great SQ in the upper range, I had a Arc Audio 2300SE pushing them and they did just fine. But one thing is for sure you have to seal them up as good as you can to get the best results from them, they are not forgiving in that area.

no problem, I am trying out the Dynaudio MW182, but I think that I will be going back to the morel, they don't hit as hard, but they are way more musically precise.

I think I am set pretty well on the mids, I am still debating the tweeter choice. I am thinking now that maybe something like the fostex ft48d might be a good match as far as frequency capabilities. It should give me a little wiggle room with the mids, but am not sure how it will handle a hundred or so watts. Anyone have thoughts on this? or experience with the fostex?
