Hi, like the title said, is it a good idea to do that? When the amp gets hot the heat will go up, and since its upside down the heat will go up straight to the circuit board. Am i wrong here?

My amp is audison SR4, the fins are located at the top. Not the side. My instAller said as long as if it doesnt go to protect mode then its ok.. Any input?

I'm doing this, slade is doing this, many others are doing this. You have an entire trunk for heat to dissipate into the air. Your heat sink fins may be on top but I would bet the mosfets are mounted to the out sides of the amp not to the middle.

Go for it.
