I am currently designing an enclosure for 3 Polk DXI 12's i got on sale at best buy for 30 dollars a piece. (Still can't believe that deal). I will be running them at ~.7 ohms (dvc 4 ohm, x3, wiring down) on a sundown or similar 1000 watt amp. My idea is ported, tuned to 32hz. I want to do aeroports. Probably 2 4" aeroports, or something like that, i haven't meshed the number yet. However, my question is, does the direction the ports are firing effect the sound? I have a 1999 Tahoe. The subs will be facing up, and i would like to make a sort of triangle with them on the top of the box firing toward the ceiling, with the ports somewhere symmetrically inbetween. Is this a good idea, or do i need to face the ports towards the back doors? (I know facing the sub towards the trunk in a car typically yeilds to be louder). Do the subs need to face the doors? Also, feel free to give me any pointers or suggestions if anything else about my plan doesn't sound good.

Cheers
