I found lots of schmatics for fixed attenuation L-pads but not to many for an adjustable one. Is it possible to have an adjustable L-pad and still maintain a 4 ohm load to the amp? I saw lots of adjustable L-pads which maintain constant impedence on Parts Express but they are all rated for 8 ohms.

I'm trying to attenuate my rear fill speakers but they are connected to the same audio channels as my front midrange speakers so I cannot use the fade function on my head unit.

The Image Enhancement Kit from CDT is exactly what you're looking for, minus the tweeter. The attenuator in the kit is a 4 ohm L-Pad. Contact DJDilliodon on Sounddomain.com He will sell you just the L-Pad from the kit. I put one in my wife's car so she can attenuate her tweeter to her taste. They work really well.
