Need help picking a SQL sub.

OK so I need a sub to par up with my amp. I have a RF Prime 1000d. I want to run it 4ohms at 500rms. My budget is around $150. I'll be buying it online. I want a 10. I want a SQ sub but still want it to hit hard. I will be building a sealed box to optimum spec according to the manual. It will be going in the trunk of a sound deadened 2002 Buick Regal. I am open to suggestions but here are my picks so far:

Image Dynamics ID
Image Dynamics CTX
Infinity Kappa
Boston Acoustics G3
MTX TR75
Alpine Type R
Orion XTRPRO
RE Audio SE
Polk Audio SR
JBL Power Series
Phoenix Gold RSdC
Diamond Audio D3
Memphis Mclass
MMats P2.0
SSA DCON
Elemental Designs 11Kv.2
Dayton Audio Titanic MK III

Thanks

$150 won't get you a whole lot, but I think I speak for many who haven't yet posted in that this will be by a long shot the best "SQL" sub you can get for ~$150.

Dayton Audio RSS315HO-44 12" Reference HO DVC Subwoofer

Use the PESAVE5 coupon code to get an additional $5 off of that. Combine with free shipping and you get one hell of a subwoofer. I'm a huge fan of Image Dynamics (I own two IDQ10 V2's, one IDQ15 V2, and one IDMax10), but that dayton sub will kick some serious booty.
No such thing as a "SQL" woofer....but the Dayton is a good choice for the $$$

How do you figure that
SQL.....does not exist. A sub that repoduces accurate sound and plays loud yes. Please tell me what the letters S.Q.L. stand for.

And the Dayton is a good sub for the price. Decent powerhandeling, and is fairly accurate.
Ok so which Dayton? The Titanic or the HO?
RE XXX ('05)
I think thats a little out of my budget.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I went with a Dayton Titanic 10. I have it in a sealed .7 box but it sounds kinda strange. Is this the right size box? Would it sound better in a ported? WinISD showed it would do well in a .68. Maybe its cause its a prefab. I built my last box and it sounded way better. Maybe I should do the same for this.
Maybe try some polyfill in the box first and make sure you are wired correctly and have no leaks.
Its a SVC so there is only one way to wire it. The sub was too big for the box so I had to dremel the hole. I thought polyfil was used to make a small box sound bigger. According to WinISD the box is .2 too big. I also been reading that some put their titanics in a .55 but others say 1.0 which what i was thinking might be correct according to the vas.
Should've done a Type R for the price. They go for 100 bucks.

Nice choice on the Dayton, but with 500RMS I would've still recommended the HO.

That amp didnt pan out, I bought it used and it was fried (ebay). Sent it back for a refund. Now i have one running 400 rms but i am thinking of getting a soundstream Picasso 540.

Type R 10's sweetspot is 400wRMS. Enough power to move it without failing, and when the bass drops, to not move it so much it'll distort.

Why exactly are you looking to do 4 Ohms on your sub? Amps usually hand out more power at 2 Ohms and that can open up more options for you.

My sub is an 4ohm SVC.
Dont get me wrong i love the sub. Its not broke in yet but I was just seeing if there was anyway possible to improve the sound. What should I cross it over at? It does great on rock but on hip hop it sounds too boomy, i usually just turn the sub down when this happens and it blends with my highs a little better.

I asked the 4Ohm question because if you look at your OP, you say

Be careful with "boomy" sounds, if it doesn't sound good for you, it's distorting. Distortion is something you DO NOT want.

Usually small subs are good for rock and larger ones are good for hip hop, due to the bass frequencies and amount that they are used in both types of music.

Usually, a strum of a bass guitar is in the midbass range, and the kick of a drum is a bass-frequency. Being rock, you won't have a kick last more than a fraction of a second.

However, hip hop has constant, low-frequency bass that can last anywhere from 1-20 seconds. That strains your sub and if it can't handle so much excursion for so long, then it'll distort and will potentially damage it.

It also has to do with your amp. The more time the amp has to handle power, the more strain it will be under, and the more it will tend to distort your drivers. So if you can get an amp with much greater power, that delivers clean, constant power, get it.

To me, 12" is the best size for a sub. I say it because to me, it's half as loud as a 15", with 3/4" the precision and agility of a 10". It can play any kind of music. If you want more SPL, you add another, and you'll have as much SPL if not more as a single 15", with the precision and control of 2 10"
