I was running a Rockford Fosgate 700s amp with 2 Rockford P2 12's well it stopped working and i assumed since the amp was a old amp the amp finally died, it never blew the in line fuse. I go to replace the amp and the subs still do not work and i notice the connector going into the box is melted. so i put that amp on another sub and it works fine. My question is will that amp hurt the new sub or was the box connector melted a problem with the sub burning out. Thanks

The terminals on pre-fab boxes are a point of restriction and they overheat. Just bypass the connector altogether and wire directly to the sub. The amp didn't cause the problem
