New Stereo Integrity Speaker Test!!!

24159 Views 332 Replies 46 Participants Last post by  ndm
Hey everyone! I have some AMAZING news!!! I just received a new pair of speakers to test for SI. I’ll be comparing them to the TM65s I have installed in my doors. The first comparison will be back-to-back, only swapping the speakers. No settings will be changed. The second, I’m dropping the crossover to 40hz (subs off) to test the low end. The final will be a 2-way setup with M25s, with a crossover point at 2500hz. My complete system is: M25, M3 & TM65s up front with a pair of SQL-12s. The 25s & 3s are powered by an SIQ-125.4, the TMs by an SIQ-200.2 and the 12s by an SIQ-1500.1. Signal goes through a Helix Pro MK 2 and was tuned by Jason Carter. Without further ado, here are some pics of the new speaker compared to the TM65…enjoy😁!!!

When mine get here I cannot wait to do a before pull with the ZR800CW's installed and an after pull. I will do it with REW and keep the exact same settings. This will be a great comparison! I will also do it with DATS too.

Could you also do a non eqd pull? Just a raw driver response comparison?
Also...will this be in the blazer or regal?
I vote regal

I had a ZR800CW sent to Warkwyn for Klippel testing. Here's the results.

I can do that. The TM8's will be installed in the Blazer in the same config as the current ZR800's. I will be sure to cut out any EQ. I am definitely interested in the results. and judge whether I can finally have a suitable replacement for my ZR800 collection!

That might do the trick... but... I still want some TM10's... I mean if 8's are the new 6.5's then it's time to go 10.

Yes, but is that what the artist intended?
That^ is for people that change speakers and/or rooms instead of changing eq settings, and also use little stands for their speaker wire so the signal doesn't get dirty from the floor (I guess they're avoiding "floor noise").

In the name of up front bass.....yes....TM10. I would be in. But only if they are IB capable. A couple 15' (or bigger), a couple 10' midbasses, some good mids and spiffy tweets would be a great.
If I needed any more help feeling like a *******, I come back into the thread and see that I maybe shouldn't have the JLs lol. Those TM8s are serious. Can't wait to hear them in someone's vehicle. Or...considering how good everyone's setups are...not hear them lol.

Any chance you can break them in before installing them? I know not everyone believes in that, but if you've been beating on the ZR's for a while I'd be willing to be the soft parts are a bit more compliant than the TM8's will be straight out of the box... just a thought. Nick's T/S specs on his subs don't really change much over time so maybe the 8's will be the same.

I was thinking along the same lines...
