I am looking to use my factory deck but I want to add a 4 ch and a mono amp.
I have used an audio control Lc8 before but I was never very happy with it.
Can anyone give me some input on good choice to use.
I used the MS-8 and never quite got what I was after. It did handle the crossover and time alignment duties well. It also added the Logic-7 processing that allowed me to add a center channel. I ran with this setup for a full year before deciding to ditch the MS-8. I eliminated my center channel and went with a 5-channel full-active capable amp, that could also handle high-level (speaker-level) inputs from my factory HU.
Now I'm running the JL XD700/5 to full-range 3's in the dash, 7-inch midbass in the front doors, and 8-inch subs. My rear are running off of the HU directly. My system sound much more dynamic now than with the MS-8. I'm not knocking it alltogether, it just didn't improve my relatively low-powered system. It's almost like it over complicated things.
FYI - my drivers are Fountek FR-88K's in the dash, Seas CA18RNX/P's in the doors, 2-JL 8W3V3's ported, and factory rears.
Note: My old setup is still listed in my signature. Guess it's time to update that.
