About to order everything after having a lot of questions answered.

Only decision I have to make is for front door woofers. These will be on their own amp channels using a JBL MS8 to handle the processing.

Not much room in the doors, and after the time I am going to spend glassing a subwoofer box, just want to put some drivers in, deaden the doors, seal the doors the best I can, and move on.

The EarthQuakes claim to work well IB. I don't know of anyone running the Peerless IB.

The EarthQuakes have a low sensitivity of 77.3db while the Peerless are a little better at 82db.

Any suggestions on which would be the best choice for my install?

It's all going in a Land Rover Discovery. I am putting a Alpine type r 8" in the back for sub, but I have been told that the small 8 might get a little lost in the rear without supplementing it with some bass drives up front. ( I am not sure if I really know what that means)

I am going to be keeping the stock 4" Mids and the stock A-pillar tweets. I guess you can say these will be complimenting these. I will be running the Mids and Tweets (which are paralled to each other) on the 20 watt amplifier of the MS8. The OEM amp actually used a dedicated channel for the 6.5s I am replacing and another for the Mids and tweets paralleled together.

I will be putting another amp off of the MS8 that will power between 75 to 100 watts to whatever speaker I replace the old 6.5 lower door speakers with.

I know this is not a lot of info, since I do not know the specs of the mid and tweets, but I am trying to make the best guess I can before I start "Experimenting"

Not replacing everything right now as I am already going way over budget by replacing the crappy subs in the tailgate and the lower woofers in the lower front doors.

Here is what I am replacing. I am ripping out the factory amp and installing a MS8. I will be running the front mids and highs and the rear door speakers off the MS8 amplifier. I will be using amps connected to the MS8 for the front lower door 6.5s and the alpine 8 that will be replacing the dual 6.5s in the tailgate.

Here is what I am going to:

adult photo hosting

I would love to model the two drivers as requested, but I have to admit, I do not know how. Can someone point me to a resource that will show m
e how?

Anyone see anything they would like to critique?

Also looking for suggestions for the Amp with the ???? on it!

The software most use to model is Winisd. Dunno of any tutorials myself though. It's fairly simple to use, all you need to do is input the T/S parameters for each new driver and select the conditions (ie sealed, ported, etc.). It's pretty straight forward and doesn't require any special setup.

Can't really help with the rest tonight.

Awesome, now I have to get ahold of a Windoze box! Been putting off buying a license and creating a VM, guess its time!

I think you could get away with a regular woofer since you will have a sub. There's plenty to choose from that will be able to go upwards a bit if needed. The Peerless can work, but is rather beefy to be pairing up with stock mids powered by an MS8.

I'm using the peerless in my front doors and they are great. I have a similar setup to yours...my tweeters are in the pillars but so are my 3" mids, 6.5" Peerless in the front doors, and I have a 12" sub in the back, in a Chevy Tahoe. If you have the room for them I think the peerless are a perfect choice. Mine are playing from 90-250hz. I would like to cross them lower but have too much rattling when I do (need to do some more deadening). Since you have a dedicated midrange you could even cross the peerless a little higher than I do and they'd work nicely. Can't beat the price either!
