A friend of mine just bought some Pioneer TS-D1720C components for his '08 WRX. Problem is, the tweeters are way to big to fit in the sail panels and the door panels aren't flat, so drilling those is out.

I remember a few years back, Boston Acoustics Z series components came with a "bridge" that held the tweeter over the woofer. Would there be any possible problems if I fabricated such a "bridge" for the Pioneers? He doesn't want to alter any panels so cosmetic fabrication of panels is out.

Thanks

Have a look at the kick panel area...

Do those tweeters have a flushmount cup? My PRS tweeters come with 2 reterded mounting option and neither of them is a flush mount...

There would not be any problems if you fabricated a bridge. Go for it.
