Hey all, quick question, also looking to get some opinions. Currently running an audison voce av k6 component set active and am considering upgrading to a dynaudio 242gt set which will also be run active. There's a local seller selling the dyn set used for a great price so I'm considering grabbing them. I have no way to demo the set so I'm just asking if it would be an upgrade over my voce or just a step sideways. Any input would be great thanks!

I feel my voce are lacking in the lower end a bit and in the impact department. I do really like them but if the dyn's will deliver better sound I would probably upgrade. As far as the tweeters go I really like them although I find they can get a bit sharp at times even with some eq cuts

I have never heard dyn's myself and no local shops around me deal dynaudio so hearing them is not possible for me

It's ok to boost. But keep in mind your speakers response range and limits so as not to run into over-excursion and distortion which will eventually damage them.

Ive heard both. I don't think you're going to make a big step up from the AVK6 set to the Dyn's. If you want more low end/midbass punch, I'd work it either via tuning between sub and mid, or look for other alternatives, like a larger dedicated midbass.

I'm an owner of the Audison Voce 3 way set. As far as sound goes and what you could expect from a nice set of components, these are up there in quality with just about any other nice 3-ways...

The limited output on the low end is likely attributed to tuning, power, install, or expectations.

I was running a Audison Due (260 x2) to my 6's and they were solidly installed and tuned with my BitOne... what was off in the equation was my expectation... I was coming from having dedicated 8" mid bass woofers and expecting my 6.5's to do the same for some odd reason...

You will likely not gain anything from switching to another 6.5" mid bass, because the displacement will remain the same and the power handling/power delivery will remain virtually unchanged, as will the install more then likely.

If you are stuck to using a 6.5, beef up the install, increase the power you are giving them (within reason), and dedicate a ton of time to tuning... I was playing my voce 6.5's at 60 hz with a 24db slope and they did pretty good... but I still ended up swapping them for Morel Elate 9's because I couldn't adjust my expectations and love for insane midbass.

They're currently powered off my bridged JL HD 600/4 so 300watts per side. If anything I think it's the tune that needs a little more work and maybe the install if anything. I really do like the sound of these speakers and don't want to upgrade until my next car. If anything ill just play with tuning and trying to fully remove all vibration from my doors as I feel that really wrecks the sound

If you don't mind me asking what subwoofers do you currently own and what is the crossover set at right now?

I feel that would be too high. Real Dont think my mids have any issues around that point. It's more 60-80hz I've tried boosting 80hz and find at louder volume my mids get muddy
