Heya, everyone! Need a quick question answered.

I am upgrading from an Alpine MRV-F353 amp, which currently draws a max 50 amps of current. My new amps will draw a combined max of 110 amps.

My question is, will it be ok to run my 1/0 gauge power to the hatch and then ground with only a 4 gauge? My thoughts are, the 1/0 will allow me to be ready for future upgrades, and for now my amps are only going to draw what they require, and thus a 4 gauge will be sufficient to ground based on the 110 amp max draw. Does anyone here see a problem with this? Thanks for your replies!

A 3 foot 4 gauge ground cable can carry over twice the current that a 15 foot 0 gauge positive cable can.

Yeah...my friend just showed me this site, so question answered. Thanks for your reply! :) Now I know it's ok to go ahead and run my new 1/0!!! Probably will add another amp in the future once I decide to go with a 3-way front stage.
