looking for a signal processor and I understand that is a very broad term at this point im not sure what to go with, I heard an audison bit-10 and fell in love but from what ive researched it is recommended to be tuned by a audison dealer or rep, im a little more hands on than that and would prefer to figure it out myself, I intend on going to school for sound technician/engineer and am currently engrossed in a lot of literature on the subject, but id like to find something more user friendly and similar in tunability, I understand this may not exist or may not be possible without a computer and the know how to tune it with, this is for an after market 5-channel system, ive considered alpines double dins with built in processors but just trying to see what else is out there and suggested, this is obviously for a sq system, any input is appreciated so long as its useful.

I have a BitTen D and could not be happier with it. I am the same way, I prefer to figure thing out myself rather than pay someone to do it for me. And that's exactly what I loved doing with the BitTen.

The interface can look somewhat intimidating at first but it is actually pretty simple once you get used to it. I knew nothing about processors or tuning when I got mine other than how much I loved my friend's BitOne, and after a few hours of playing around with it I had a decent tune and it only got better each time I changed it after reading something on this forum.

Why not a Bit One so you'll have some more room when you want to upgrade for an 8ch. It very easy to understand and should be used together with an RTA (AudioControl/PC based). It's more confusing choosing a right vibrator for your significant half than tuning the Audison DSP. I never fiddled with one before but after 2 sessions I familiarized myself real quick, it's another story with the vibrator.
