The main things that steered me away was that it wasn't true 4 way active capable.The seventh output is very limited because it is tied with channels 1-2 (including T/A, crossover settings, etc) and has a fixed 60hz crossover at 12db/octave. In addition, it has independent 30 band EQ per channel, but ONLY if you dont use the internal crossovers. You are stuck with only L/R eq, which is fine for most applications, but not for me.
I think the 701 is a far better choice if you want a lot of processing power, just difficult to find. Plus you need to use the optical output if you want want zero noise floor..
