Ok I sold my single cab truck. Now have a full size blazer. I have a Memphis 15-MCP12S4 single coil 4 ohm sub. In the truck I loved it. Sounded great, plenty of output. Just got it in the blazer today. Sounds great, but I want more output. It's running on a Polk pa880 amp at 4 ohms so 300 watts according to Polk.
My options are- add second same sub. Get amp to 2 ohms and 500 watts?
I have a trade option on an alpine type x12 dual 4 ohm?
Will the Polk push the type x sufficiently? Will it give me much more output? The type x comes in a ported box which I know will be louder. But I have always preferred sound quality and like sealed boxes generally. Just looking for opinions before I make a trade
