merry christmas everyone, its 45 minutes to christmas and i'm going out dancing (house) ... but before i go .. i remember reading an article on equalizing your system by using a radioshack spl meter to plot spl at different frequencies, and then using the equalizer to make the FR as flat as possible ..

this is a cheap way to find the FR curve of your system.

so i have two questions

1) has anyone actually got plots of an unequalized system and what it looks like graphically ?
2) has anyone tried this .. i cant see why it wouldnt work very well !! it would just take a while, and i'm wondering what would be appropriate intervals .. 1 octave ?

i found this one on an australian site, sure its $149 but u can always take it back for a refund if u dont like it :)

In my experience the radio shack meter isn't too accurate, and calibration is difficult because each unit is so different from the next. Perhaps more critically, there's no time domain info.

looks like an unequalized system in that vehicle car have frequency response variance of up to 20db !!!!!! time domain ?
