I have an '01 Sierra that is currently all stock. Door speakers are pretty much shot so its getting time for a revamp. I have not purchased anything at this point. I do want to raise the sound up some and was thinking of components in the doors and an extra pair of tweeters in the A pillars. I'm leaning towards an Alpine pdx-5. My main concern is the sound getting to m ears at different times throwing it all off. Suggestions?

Go active, and mebbe a pioneer HU >800, 880 { should do the trick...}

Use stock door locations and get a hu with a great processor (pioneer 880, alpine 9835,or similar). You can get excellent results with stock locations in the sierra/silverado doors. Just takes some time tuning. Don`t forget deadening.
