I am getting a Lexus NX with the base 10 speaker Pioneer system in the near future.
It has a 4" coherent source transducer.
I am not going to alter the A pillar or stick tweeters onto the dash
What is needed to put in a tweeter in this 4" spot other than a bracket to hold the tweeter?
Some Dynamat in that location?
Tweeter will be one of the following: Audiofrog GB15, Dynaudio MD102 and Scan-Speak D3004/6040-05.

Are you keeping everything else stock? Have you looked at wideband speakers?

I was planning a 2 way active front with a sub.

Are you running just the tweeter in that spot, or trying to make a braxial type setup?

It is sometimes better to keep the tweeter further from the windshield rather than closer. Depends on crossover of the tweeter and windshield geometry but worth taking some measurements.

Definitely do not use just a tweeter when you have the opportunity to use a wideband or coaxial. Going 2-way vs these other options would be a huge mistake.

IMO run a wideband like a L2SE in the dash, it can go to 20k and down to say 250 easy enough. Maybe even a L3SE.

Woofer in the door, take your pick really

I’m very happy using the Unity 8’s in the dash, pointed at the windshield in a 2 way. Before that I had a 3 way with a mid pointed at the windshield and tweeter on axis.
