After 8 1/2 years of ear-splitting highs and mids, one of my Focal Polyflex speakers is starting to go on me. It's only a matter of time before the others go, too, so I'm thinking about getting new components. Currently, I have 5 1/4 components for front stage and rear stage (custom enclosures). My installer currently carries Kicker, Diamond, Polk, and maybe MB Quart. I primarily play electronica (trance and house), so I need a quality speakers that handles mids and highs really well. They are currently being run by a Diamond D3 500.4.
I've also considered just getting 6 x 9's for the rear stage, but I like uniformity. Should I spend the extra money again to have components in the rear, or should I spend extra money to get a quality front stage component set and get good quality 6 x 9's for the back?
