Hey guys...I've been putting off my install for the longest time and I am comming to the conclusion that I simply do not have time to do it myself.

Although this is DIYMA... I'm afraid I gonna have to pay an install shop to put my gear in and tweak it up. Does anyone know of some reliable shops out in the NYC area that know what they are doing and do good work. Thanks.

BTW, I'd like to point out that what one should expect from a shop is knowing how to properly wire a system (and neatly), and to generally be clean with their fabrication work (if any).

They should be decent in setting up systems, but for true audiophile tuning I haven't seen a shop in the tri-state area that's "got it".

Best case scenario is for them to give you a well installed system for you to fine tune.

ps - Don/6speedcoupe is not a "shop", so don't include him amongst that list. ;)

They did an install for a buddy, looks great (haven't heard it yet).
They were where I got all the pg ti tweeters I got for myself and some diyma members. The guy who knew the most left though so I dont know if their current installers are as good.

Don,

I was under the impression you were not one of these high volume shops taking in 5 or 6 cars per day with a sizey garage and 2-3 installers, sales manager, etc.

Smaller is better for the type of SQ projects some of us are into.

DesignTech does good work, but their tuning ear isn't quite golden if their blue S4 is their reference system. :D

But as I said before, what's important is that the install shop get all the wiring done properly and clean and let the SQ enthusiast tune it himself.

He's not. He's a single guy doing the work himself. BUt he's still a shop and does darn good work. I second this choice. He's also done Altimas before. I know this because....he was working on one when I was over there once. :p

He's a shop, he does great work. He just busted out a top dollar quality install on a E55. He does a good job as any shop, except he's very anal about wiring, which is a great attribute to have.

Fellipe, your on the right track with daily high volume jobs, simply because Im not a turn and burn like some of the places I worked over 7 years ago prior to starting my own. However I do stay Very busy and book up weks in advance alot of times.

My garage size is fairly plentiful to do whatever I need as well as a fabrication room and large waiting area.

My simple philosophy is personal attention to every single client. I am by appointment only and it works. Please don't misunderstand though 'small' is far from the only thing I do. ;)
