What would happen or change if i remove existing phase plug and instead of it cover the hole in membrane with dustcap? Someone already tried this?

I've seen people remove dustcaps and install phase plugs, but why would you want to do the reverse? I guess you would have slightly more cone area, but that little spot in the center has little effect overall... with a 39 mm Voice coil thats approx 12 sq. cm. - it may give you about 1db of additional output I'm thinking, but what negative effects?

Can you explain me, what would happen with T/S param. ? I'd like to have slightly higher Qts for better use in door of a car. Bu i know that the added mass of dustcap will lower the Fs..

The phase plug helps with the off-axis response too... i wouldnt really worry about removing it from that driver if you're concerned with bass response...

Do you think that would change T/S parameters? I guess so, but i don't know in wich direction...what would happen with Qts, Fs, Vas etc. ?
