I'm getting ready to install the amp rack on the back wall of my Crew Cab Truck. For ease of installation, I am simply gluing a piece of 3/4 plywood to the back wall behind the carpet and will mount to that.

My question has to do with sound deadening the back wall. Should I sound deaden first, leaving just the glue contact areas exposed or should I mount the amp rack then sound deaden over the hole area? Does it really matter which way I do it?

i would deaden first, but that's just me. and since you're gluing leave the glue spots open.
After thinking about it, I think that will be the best way to go. After all, if I put it on after, I could leave rattles and vibrations in there that I can't get to. I can always add more after the fact, but once the board is glued on, that's it.
