I agree that JL did set the bar pretty high. But, the 86db efficiency that the 13TW5 offers is less than staggering too. I didn't realize though that the JL is only half an inch deeper. That's really not all that much more....which is something I can't say about the price lol

Cant speak on this, but heard the JL and the Memhis S Class slims head to head. The JL isnt close to the memphis in sound quality or "hit" as I call it. Just be aware, to get any of these to sound really good, the boxes are usually bigger that what company calls for. If space is really tight, I would try the memphis first.

so the memphis s class has some good SQ? I was looking at these. for a spare tire well enclosure. to keep it flush with the stock floor heigth. Do you think the diyma 12 would fit that close?

I read somewhere on this forum that the Re Audio SL12 is supposed to be the new "leader" when it comes to price-performance.

Don't flame me, I'm just the messenger ;)

There is the Soundstream Stealth 13, Precision Power and Power acoustic version... The Power Acoustic verson has a smaller voice coil at 2"... the other two are 5".

Efficiency isn't a very useful spec for subwoofers... it's usually measured at 1,000 hz. - your subwoofer won't be going anywhere near that... thanks for coming!

Power handling - I read a test report which said the Stealth 13 handled a little more than 400 watts.

I'd like to try a couple myself... I could make a slim box / false floor in a car trunk which might be only around 3 inches deep.
