Speaker Wire / Setup Question

Hi guys. I have an 06 civic Si coupe. A shop did my original install and i'm now looking to upgrade and do my own work. I currently have Memphis MSQ6 components up front. While looking at the install i noticed he connected the door speaker to the stock stereo wire. Then after it came through the door and back into the car used the speaker wire that was provided with the MSQs. My question is...how much does this effect performance?

The reason I ask is bc i'm looking at purchasing a set of Hybrid Clarus's, making baffles, doing more deadening, etc.(The right way) And I want to know if I should do the same thing as the original install...or use better speaker wire and figure out my own way of running it through the door and into the car. If its nothing that will be noticeable i'd prefer to just do it like the original. But if not, I'll do what I have to do.

Thanks

I can't tell you how much it will affect performance; you could test it and see though.

If it were me, I'd just feed the aftermarket wire through the rubber boot between the door and the car that the factory wire is run through. It can be kind of annoying, but it doesn't usually take that long.

its not going to make a difference at all

if you open up the best pair of speakers in the world they come with small speaker wire that is the same size as your stock wire

so don't stress it

if you really want to swap it out just get some 16ga and imo you'll be golden. I suggest stinger. Im not a brand whore but it is cheap and easy to work with is why i suggest it
