If you build a sealed sub box that you are going to put two 8" subs in, what affect does it have if any if you:
* Leave it as one box with both subs in it OR
* Put a divider in the middle to seal off the box in half so each sub is in its on seperate compartment

putting in a seperator has the advantage that if one sub fails. the other one will still work. if they are common chambered then one sub tries to drive the one like a passive radiator. can cause the second one to overheat and fail too.

I always build my subs in a common chamber. If i need bracing i do it in the corners.

The advantage if you want to call it an advantage is that if one sub blows you can still run your system. But whats the point. You will be thinking about replacing that speaker in the first place. Building a common chamber is easier, and cheaper to build more than not
