Planning on running Alpine SPX-17PRO passive up front, and a S.I. MagV4 as my Sub.

There's one for sale in the classifieds, and I was thinking about ditching my PDX idea ( running 2 PDX 2.150's) and running this 3 channel.

Would you go for it?

So instead of asking our opinions, what you should be asking is:

Does it fit my install plans?
Is it capable of the power I'm looking for?
Is it cost effective?

All you're doing is trying to confirm your ideas by asking us ours, when really they don't matter.

Both amps are nice, but the idea is to figure out which one is going to work best in YOUR situation.

What's holding me back is that I would only get 100watts per channel up front, the sub appears like it would be plenty. BoostedRex recommends only 300 watts for the MagV4 even though its rated 500-1000.

I don't really know enough about class b verse class d to know if I should only be looking at one or the other.

Like I said, I'm a total newb with stuff, so I'm hoping to soak up any bit of advice I can.

Sundown is a well respected name around here so I don't really think I could go wrong with it, I'm just nervous about dropping the cash.

ohh lol... the "b" is the version.
The first version is "a", then the second (mentionned above) is "b"... they now have the 4th one out I believe.

Hope that helps,
Kelvin

That's a big help, i searched for sax but I must have done a search in the wrong section now that I think about it.

looks like the improvements don't really affect my usage much. Also I think I have been neglecting the "DIY" notion of this forum. I'm almost positive I'm going to just give it a try like most others do here
